Eunice Raymond is currently working as a site activation specialist in a clinical research organization based in Australia. Voice of the Youth Network (VOTY) was first introduced to her in 2005, where she got to know about the organization and the people behind it. In January 2006, she officially joined the VOTY by volunteering for an activity hosted by the network.
Prior to her time with VOTY, Eunice was a nursing student and in search of an organization where she can volunteer and participate during weekends. She then discovered VOTY, founded by "The VoiceMaster Of The Philippines" Pocholo De Leon Gonzales. VOTY was established on August 12, 1996 to encourage youth to take charge of their life while building their self-esteem, and improving their quality of life and of the communities around them with its aim being to inform, inspire, involve, and empower.
She shared some of the most unforgettable and favourite memories she had during her tenure as a volunteer for VOTY. She recalled when they used to go at DZME Radyo 1 every Sunday to attend the program, conduct meetings, and prepare for the activities the following week.
She also recalls how VOTY has gave opportunities to incoming college students, by conducted free college entrance reviews where a lot of students attended.
On top of this, she mentioned that she will never forget their Kabataan Night, an event where the youth were given a platform to showcase their talents which was held at the Conspiracy Bar. Despite the limited space of the venue, this didn’t stop them from achieving their goal and the event being an overall success. They were overwhelmed by the number of youths that willingly joined the activities of the event.
Meaningful youth engagement is about recognizing and cultivating a young person's qualities, interests, and abilities by giving them actual opportunities to participate in decisions that affect them and their communities. This type of participation benefits the youth because it allows them to cultivate crucial decision-making and problem-solving skills, form meaningful relationships, and boost their self-esteem.
Through VOTY, Eunice has a broader sense of Volunteerism and awareness for the community in terms of youth service. She found and understood the true definition of service.
“Voice of the Youth Network, Informing, Inspiring, Involving and Empowering the Filipino youth worldwide, I am Eunice Raymond for VOTY Batch 2006. I love Voice of the Youth Network. Happy 25th anniversary mga ka-tinig” she stated as she celebrated VOTY’s 25th anniversary.
She also expresses her heartfelt gratitude for The VoiceMaster Of The Philippines", Pocholo De Leon Gonzales, for his commitment to help the youth and by establishing VOTY, which has given a lot of Filipino Youth the opportunity to learn.
